I like Doctor Seuss’ ww2 propaganda. He was good at it. Except for his Japanese internment piece, he was just wrong on that one.

I would read all of these to small children because I do not like children.

They’re all widely known to be nightmarish stories.
 
JGHG is about a soldier who loses his face and all of his limbs in war. He wakes up in a hospital bed only to find he has lost all of his senses except for touch. It gets worse from there.
 
IHNMAIMS is about a supercomputer that tortures the last surviving humans after wiping out every other living thing on Earth.
 
1984 is about a future where society is controlled by a strict government, and free thinking is considered a heinous crime.
