If you’re talking about WWII, that’s actually a bit of a myth. They only really relied on human wave tactics early in the war, when they were losing. They only started winning after they began to adopt more advanced tactics and strategies.

If the Zulu King’s nephew didn’t attack Rorke’s Drift, the Zulu King could’ve easily claimed victory on the basis of defending his kingdom from British invasion. Sadly Rorke’s Drift was just on the other British side of the border.

IIRC, the British Army didn’t use machine guns as a matter of course until a few years after the Zulu War… I think.
That was pretty much the British attitude at Isandhlwana. On the other hand, Rorke’s Drift was later that day (someone’s already ponified that, which is awesome).
Or was that later, because there’s none in the picture.
