Maybe when holodecks are invented we can program the holodeck computer to recreate the ST:VOY series but write out Kim early on (or at least put in a better replacement) and keep Kes to explore her personality more. Because by the time they got back to Earth at the end of S7, she would’ve been an old lady…

No really, that’s the reason they kept him in Voyager: he was featured in some superfluous list based on appearance in an (what I assume to be a somewhat influential) american magazine.
 
Personally, I would have still gotten rid of him just to keep Kes and explore the potential of her character more.

Yeah, Kim had little to no significance and wasn’t even particularly anything to write home about regarding his job performance. I think Naomi Wildman would’ve made a better Ensign and Comms operator. ;P

Oh, Harry Kim is BALLS annoying. You could replace him with literally any other character and the story would not change radically. Hell, it might even work out better. Ensign G’kar, anybody?

Yeah, and? I can think of at least 3 men I’d vote as being sexy before I’d even consider choosin Garrett Wang (ya got his name wrong btw): Robert Duncan McNeill, Robert Beltran, Robert Picardo. Tim Russ too, maybe.
 
Personally, I found Ensign Kim to be superfluous to the action most of the time. Most of what he does in stories could’ve been handled by one character or another with very little alteration. And I found him just mildly annoying, too. xD

Exactly. They got rid of Kes for some bogus reason, and then made a Borgified clone of her in 7 of 9. A character replacement like that is just never quite as good.

Eh. Neelix, I could easily take him or leave him. I quite liked the character of Kes, but then they went and put her on a bus for some reason early in season 4, and pretty much replaced her with 7 of 9, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix 01.
 
My other personal favourites were the Doctor (not him…though I am a massive Whovian too xD), Tom Paris, and Naomi Wildman just ’cos cute. :3

I mentioned this a while back, but I actually rather hate Torres and Harry Kim more than Neelix; Neelix was at least meant to be kind of annoying, whereas Torres was a deranged racist and Harry Kim probably couldn’t open a door without it crushing his balls. Neelix is basically just a shithead.
