I think it’s more likely to be showing the way she was a short time after Luna’s banishment, when she was still weakened from her fight with Nightmare Moon, combined with her not being used yet to the extra workload and grieving the loss of her sister (and despite all of that, still smiling and putting on a brave face for her little ponies).
