Description
Here is a little making-of animation of different stages of the Lyra and Bon Bon embroidery I have been making from June to August 2024. It shows different stages of shading and the background. Between the first images you can also see a little correction I did. After I had finished the original outlines I noticed that Lyra’s horn was a bit too far to the rear and that it would have always bothered me in the final result, so I shifted it a little more to the front of her head.
Any form of fanart that you take joy from :)
Heh, sound like a nightmare then, especially mistake bit. I guess I will stick to digital art for now :P
Thank you kindly, DARKSTYLERZ :)
With crocheting I have so far only completed one unicorn, which I didn’t upload since it wasn’t strictly speaking an MLP character but a gift for my niece (she dubbed the unicorn Florian). I also started (but didn’t complete) a Night Mare Moon amigurumi. It was still a lot of fun and I do intend to do crocheting again myself. The main deterrent for me is that with crocheting it is easy to make a mistake that can only be seen once it is far too late to correct while with embroidery the mistake most of the time shows early enough so you can still do something about it. Nonetheless the crocheting IS fun and if you are curious about it, I would strongly recommend you and everyone to give it a try and then decide whether or not it is for you. If possible I also recommend finding somebody who already knows some crocheting as a teacher as it can be a lot easier to learn (and a lot more fun at that) than it can be by learning it from books only… was that Twilight Sparkle’s character ark in a nutshell? :D
I checked out lightdragon1988, great stuff too, Tiara looked particularly hairy which is nice thing. The closest I have been to you two was when I was working on plushie stuff, but still had professionals do embroidery because I needed it done quick https://derpibooru.org/tags/artist-colon-oblitor ancient times. Crocheting seems to be extremely hard from what I seen, so not even tried it myself ;p Good luck mate.
Thank you very much, DARKSTYLERZ :)
I got to confess that one “reason” I picked up embroidering again is to procrastinate crocheting a little (which I like too, but which comes with the very annoying chore of counting all the loops correctly ;)).
If you would like to see more beautiful MLP embroideries I highly recommend taking a look at the amazing work of lightdragon1988.
