particularly sad for those that ‘arn’t’ like poor thorax…having to fight spike nearly broke the poor bug iirc

infinite eclipse storyline i suspect will have one of two endings, if it ever does end, either exactly what happend all those years ago, everything dies and the cycle starts over from the beggining, or somehow, some way thru the power of friendship, harmony, or big MF magic death ray rituals, the goddess’ are banished/destroyed/sealed ending in a final fantasy 6 like situation where the good guys technicly won….but it will take a very ‘very’ long time to pick up the peices…

Beta got some right, and some wrong.

25,000 years ago, there was an ancient society of alicorns. They ran foul of two goddesses - the embodiment of destruction (Aqasha), and the embodiment of nightmares (Nerath)

All life was wiped out, and new life was made in its place. Celestia and Luna were kept alive, acting as seals carrying the final seeds of Aqasha and Nerath - which were released when they died.

It’s not really known if Celestia and Luna are in there somewhere. The general consensus in the fandom is that they are gone - most who are molten or crystallized are. Sad as it is.

That must mean celestia and luna are a part of them
…so this can only mean a part of them is Good
Maybe not much but if i can find that light perhaps this war may end
…however it will be hard to get close enough without dying

they didn’t come from celestia and luna, it was the other way around

the goddess’ of fire and ice existed before equestria, before known history…by some means lost they were sealed, there souls bound to the beings that would later become celestia and luna…and for a time, a very long time, all was well…then cultists seeking the power of nightmare and daybreaker used dark rituals to awaken the darker sides of celestia and luna, resulting in the initial eclipse war, then the great rebelion against the sisters
then when the sisters were killed, the true horror began as the seal holding the anceint goddess’ was released, and so they rose to begin their reign anew

as to why…only they can answer that, they fight because their natures are diamentricly inverse, ice and fire cannot coexist but why they feel the need to destroy and corupt everything rather then just limiting their struggles to themselves, that…again, only they would know

Why do they do this? Why did they come from Celestia and Luna?
And Why do they choose to fight each other?

one could argue that the thralls of the ladies of ice and fire are still ‘alive’ for want of a beter term….so the death toll is perhaps not as imediatly high as all that….
that said in that same vein said thralls, if they were capable of free thought…might wish they had died.

When aqasha and nerath first arrived…it made the balefire bombs of the fallout equestria timeline look like sparks compared to her
