He wasnt even invited to Twilight’s birthday party. So… yeah.

The sane solution is to ask Spike to join in the more fun thing, but if Spike said no invite Rainbow Dash to join in with what was planned with Spike, and if no just do what you promised before.
 
However this is Twilight, so she’s going to pretend she forgot the plan by presenting Spike with a whole list of things she has to have done, all being out of the house, and then give him a list of things she planned on doing in the treehouse before they were scheduled to hang out but it’s all ridiculous shit that is nearly impossible and she goes to hang out with Dash but Spike finds them late in the day having completed all the stuff on his list.
 
Then they write a letter to the princess telling her they should have done the logical thing to begin with.
