The reason I made this head cannon is that I noticed Sunny’s mom’s orange and yellow streak hair is the same color as Sunny’s rainbow streaks when I was making Sunny’s CGP(plus Its happens to people in real life too. When I was born I had black hair with blonde highlights and today I have cinnamon hair lol)I believe that Sunny’s mom came from Skyros or she has a relation from the Alicorn kingdom and is still alive
Ultimately it’s a different story if told differently. They’re just canon events.
It’s more complicated than a binary canon/not canon. There’s overlap, where some aspects are canon and some aren’t.
So then you’re just proving him right.

Actually, in an earlier episode of Tell Your Tale Sunny is shown to have the rainbow streak in video footage recorded by her father.

Actually, there are hints that it was like that even before the episode. One example being this. I do recall the same was shown in some of the other comics as well and I always thought it was a mistake made on part if the people making them. However, it has been shown enough times that it might actually be more. Odds are it was a mistake, but the headcanon above is a solid explanation for it. As a friend once said - plotholes are a good source of fanfic and fan-theory fuel.
