yeaaah even somber would admit they got a bit…kill happy…in that last arc, basically they had too many plot threads that needed wrapping up and needed to do it fast so…yep, everypony dies!
it worked but it made the third act very janky
it ‘is’ on brand and theme for blackjack though, her wasteland ‘virtue’/‘element’ is perseverance, continuing on when by all rights she shouldn’t be able to, when anypony else would give up and stop, she persists, endures, perseveres.

in my head cannon they were never really apart…though she couldnt see them glory’ and justice’s souls remain with black jack always, unwilling to journey into the song till they can all go together.
