Actually, the later films later went on to show off a world of what would happen if humanity were at war against giant monsters in order to survive.
And every subsequent Godzilla movie was just about monsters hitting each other, paying only the minimal of narrative regards for the poor humans caught in the middle.
No. The first Godzilla movie focused on the horrors of a nuclear war or just nuclear power going unchecked. Godzilla is not invincible but it is made very clear that if we continue abusing nuclear power for further our selfish means, we’ll drive ourselves to extinction.
So, it’s because its Godzilla isn’t invincible.
By the end of the cartoon version, Toho executives added Zilla to canon after all, and also brought her back on the hero side and not the ‘easily dispatched mook’ side.
Hasbro needs to watch and understand the Godzilla cartoon. It is entirely possible that if they applied themselves they could make all 3 other flagship girls’ properties hold the same mass appeal as MLP, as well as study more successful/memorable properties in similar locales. Right now, they are just watching, looking at a couple promos, and shamelessly copying. But say, if they reworked LPS to be more like Oliver & Company or Sheep in the Big City + the already pseudo-FiM elements within (that is the animals really ARE talking and their secret gets found out) …yea, now we’re talking quality! Now we’re talking a major hit. Shortcake needs a similar complete overhaul, but Pound Puppies isn’t too bad. It’s on a good path, they just need to have less Seinfeldian ‘episodes/scenes about nothing.’
That was funny as hell when that happened too. Especially what the villain says afterwards.
I’s because that version of Godzilla(name changed to Zilla) died from missles! You need a hell of a lot more than just the normal methods to kill the Japanese one & also Zilla died in final wars because of Godzilla!
The fact it misses the mark of what Godzilla is supposed to represent in the first place? As in nuclear holocaust?
There’s a fishing village in the film so I’d say so.
