Do any of the altboorus suffer from “too much AI content” problem? Given that many of them are famous for never deleting anything, are they completely overrun by AI content by now?
EDIT: Did some research:
  • Ponybooru: 9027 images tagged ai content
  • Manebooru: 29 images tagged as machine learning generated
  • Ponerpics: 17540 images tagged ai content
For comparison, Derpibooru has 16805 images tagged ai content. Either people don’t use altboorus much, or they do delete content.
At least on Ponybooru it’s a tagging issue. Compare >>2482864 and >>2708093. The non-deleting altboorus should all have more. Personally I don’t feel it’s a problem.

Just for the record I am against AI filter type frameworks 100%. Which is what your talking about when meshing things together. However, saying all AI is art theft will backfire should it become a topic in Copy Right law.
Not all AI artistry meshes things together similar to image filters. Like a cellphone selfy app only rearanging chunks of an input-image. A lot of them are based on pixels and biology. Generating things based on complex prompts. Taking different images on the internet as sort of refference to sort out what these prompts actually mean.
Add that not all AI is image based. A great deal of coding text editors, word editors, and website editors are intigrating AI as a proof reader. In many ways its like spell check.
Except in art it can be a useful tool to test theory. Again, I am against art theft including filters 100%. However, if its a tool in the process then banning it will create problems accross the board.

I can at least tell you openly where I got my references from and who, The difference me and an AI is that I’m human and I’m transforming the art I’ve seen, making something new in the process, AI simply mashes pre-existing images taken without permission into something “new”.
Fair use doesn’t come into account when it comes to AI as it’s not transforming anything.

Again, algorythms are open domain. Everyone began art through admiring others. Do you pay every artist who influenced your art? Have you paid every art teacher who sat with you after class at college for taking the extra time?
If AI is trained in similar ways then wouldnt this count as fair use every timelaps artist cut and pasts under their videos? There has to be an exact copy of a character via identical trates and identical artistry.
Even Hasbro has to decide on what cease-and-disist order is worth the legal costs. I am absolutely certian everything on this website is stolen art under the definitions your using. Yet, AI creating starter art, “if you will,” is on the grounds for legal lawsuits.

AI by itself cannot create anything without training data which is scraped and stolen from artists without permission, AI doesn’t create anything with “substance” it just mashes shit together to create broken images without credit on who it was train on.
AI in my opinion is a great tool when used by an actual artists hand, Use of generative AI however is pathetic on all counts and should be limited or stopped entirely.

I disagree with the “art theft,” AI theory. No one owns anatomy, bottony, or well anything else open domain. In the USA Copy Right you must make something artistically yours.
AI in my opinion challenges the “OC Closed species,” nonsense beautifully. Walt Disney can’t sue Dead Mouse for mouse ears for example.
Having a particular biology or heridity even… uniquely yours is a bucket of hogwash. Science and science fiction to an extent cannot be trademarked. Not unless there is an actual artistic value to protect. Color scheme, pattern, and character designs are important “unique value,” characteristics. Plot, world building, and story makes fiction publishable and copy right worthy.
AI on its own fails to make this. However, given the character building process the “unique values,” would give a generated character copy right value. Are we trying to steal the moon or a car? A car can physically be stollen where the moon cannot.
An actual substance makes value.

except the fact that while yes those sorta things exist, they are usually sorted by tags relatively quickly by others, it’s been a hot second since I’ve seen anything foalcon or diaper related.
However people don’t tag there AI properly leading to just walls of nonsense stupid pics or worse, they tag it under an artist tag rather then the prompter tag. It’s also the matter of it’s stolen artwork which is the majority of what myself and others dislike about AI.

So it’s ok to complain about AI content, yet when you complane about shit like diaper or foalcon you’re told “hater, just filter it”. If you don’t want to see AI content just filter it, some people enjoy it leave them be.

Some AI stuff looks good but some of them are hideous… I have mixed feelings about AI content. Also 95% of the AI content I see is porn, which makes sense since what else would you use a machine that can generate images for you with no effort.

It’s a bit hard to do when what takes me say 2 days to make a full poster an AI can make 100 in a day all of “good enough” quality for most people. AI “art” shouldn’t be in spaces with genuine artists, it’s insulting.

There won’t be forever. Eventually traditional and human-made digital art will go. The overwhelming majority of content uploaded will be AI, and it’ll be too difficult to tell apart to the point where we just have to assume everything is AI. We’re fucked.

Maybe, because if AI doesn’t get banned entirely, the amount of AI uploads will one day far outweigh everything not AI.
In the last 30 days, 7.56% of all uploads here are AI content. That’s 7.56% too many.
