Ethanol

Dragons don’t sweat they just evaporate ethanol, but it leads them to having a rather boozy scent like bread dough or beer.
Dragons produce ethanol which they use in part to breathe fire

Everyone is arguing over the ethanol when they really should be asking what type of beer the smell particles are.

@thps48
They sweat ethanol instead of normal sweat not that they don’t sweat at all as you can see it dripping off her in the pic.
and in the description;
they just evaporate ethanol
Which is how sweating works just with a different fluid.
How do they breathe fire? Do they have an extra gland there? Does it aerosol it too or do they have to learn to do that with their lungs and mouth like IRL fire breathers do?

The chemistry fail here is so painful.
ETHANOL DOESN’T SMELL LIKE BEER
There’s ethanol in beer, along with yeast, hops and other ingredients.
She’d smell closer to rubbing alcohol.

I think everyone’s ignoring the obvious implications of this, ethanol is flammable and they regularly hang around and swim in lava, i’d assume this would frequently result in them catching fire or with sufficient groups or small areas creating explosive gas mixes.
Them catching fire isn’t actually a problem and i’d assume they’d be able to smell when it’s getting close to an explosive mix and either ventilate appropriately or burn it off before it got to that point.
Assuming lava is hot enough for them to sweat they’d do a pretty good impersonation of spontaneous combustion although being ethanol I don’t think it would burn bright enough for anyone to see at least in the daylight.

@BigBuggyBastage
Not necessarily–if it’s really a result of a dragon’s natural body processes, then that probably means they have a natural resistance to its intoxication effects due to their body no doubt having long adapted to its continue presence in their systems.
Which means dragons are probably harder to get drunk through the conventional altogether, so…

Go fsck yourself
Then you’re sweating ethanol. Right…?
Actually, that’d be awesome. You’d cool down way faster, though this would also mean you’d be drunk. Always.
