To this day, it still saddens me that this was Sunset Shimmer’s only appearance in FIM itself. Sigh Why were the writers so desperate to make the EQG series not part of the show’s canon?

Uh… She’s a G4 character… and EQG & Friendship Is Magic, and it’s possible that some of the events of the EQG movies and specials are set between some of the episodes of FiM through Season 4 through 9.

And the fact that she was put ther makes her 100% canon in the mian FiM show, but i guess you have past the event horizon & you are you will forever live in the black hole of denial, i so wish i could help my friend, but there is nothing that i could do.
