Yeah, they’re afro puffs. When I typed my comment I forgot it was a thing (as in Portuguese we just call afro puffs “Marias-Chiquinhas” ou “Maria-Chiquinhas”, which is the term for pigtails we use here). Shimmering Spectacle probably forgot as well.

I know, it’s most likely cause they seem to can’t afford her pigtails on 3d, that or they ran out of time.
In MYM, she did appear with pigtails in a picture. Young Misty with pigtails is likely younger than the one who has the same manestyle her adult self formerly had.
at least in TYT, in mym tho it’s the same as it looked in her first adult appearance.
