(is this the first time we’ve seen Smoothie walking away from the camera? At least, with his clothes on - we’ve seen his backside many times. Also, I think, the first time we’ve seen out the dorm door?)
I’d have to poke around for examples, but I’m sure we’ve seen his clothed backside. I often have to manage the shape key for the little notch where his tail goes. As for seeing out the door…I mean, at least a bit every time somepony goes in or out.

And it’s all the fault of the G & P Trixie. If only Smoothie had stayed to give Peach and Pep advice on their moves…

So the immediate threat from giving Pep the E-file is that 1 ... Re1 wins the f1 bishop. Peach has ways to stop that, but 1 f4 is not one of them. We see Pep pick up the rook, but we don’t yet see whether he correctly plays it to e1. Tune in next time to find out!
I knew I was right to play out a real game, with a deliberate bad move, for this comic. I fully expected that if the game was wrong or invalid, someone would point it out. XD

I for one am fully expecting 6 full pages of intense chess action, and am going to be heavily disappointed if this riveting game of amateur chess is interrupted by boring gay sex between two cute pones.

I’m reminded of an old webcomic set in a fantasy world where playing chess was seen as dirty, so it became this subversive thing. And that of course meant the webcomic talked about playing chess as if it were sex.
