because of his intelligence he didn’t even know that a zebra is a thing lol that’s why I mentioned a situation in which he would think that a zebra is some slang term for cool or intelligent
Either way, Zecora would be an excellent mentor to Sprout.

He’s not such a bad guy. Just a spoiled brat who grew up in the wrong environment. He’s the kind of guy who everyone didn’t like in school, but then he shows up at the high school reunion a totally turned-around chad and all-around cool guy with a hot unicorn wife XD
Mostly a stylistic choice because he has such a round face. G5 to G4 is kind of tricky because I don’t want to deviate too far from canonical styles :D
I like to think that he’s the kind of guy who would overcorrect and get way more into non-earth pony stuff than the rest of the ponies. Like, suddenly he’s the expert on zebra potions XD

Guys like Sprout are the ones who need a mentor the most. They’re not really bad, but just lost. I like to think he’s kind of like Zuko, where he’s torn between what he thinks he should be and what he should actually be :D
My headcanon is that every earth pony has a type of plant that represents them, that they’ll grow from nothing if they use their magic. Sprout’s are tomatoes because they’re only good when you mix them with different things :D

Could be any number of things. Maybe he’s time-traveling to G4 time in the Everfree Forest, maybe she’s a ghost, maybe it’s a distant descendant of Zecora, and maybe Sprout’s just nuts and imagining her XD

He probably thinks it’s really cool. Also, fun fact about zebras. Once you finish a zebra’s rhyme, or they finish yours, it becomes an official friendship forever :D

Well zecora did travel to other dimensions in the idw comics. So maybe she traveled into a alternate g5 universe?
And if only Sprout had all his marbles.
