This is a commission for another one of the talented Estee’s long-form stories, “A Duet for Land and SkyI” following up on Applejack and family after a particularly difficult mission with her friends has left her questioning herself and the very way of life to which her family has always adhered. A deep dive into the versions of the characters that make up Estee’s more complex take on the show, the challenge here was to bridge the gap between the show’s style and something with a little more depth to it… something which isn’t always easy with show designs! Going by his early fan name of Snowflake (as Estee’s version of the character predates the official show’s name), our favorite bulked-out pony is one that doesn’t always easily translate into believability. Hopefully, the compromises I made to him work for people without erasing what makes him, well… him!
