“Twilight, will you please hold still? Every time you move, I have to wait for your whole body to stop wobbling around.” Rarity bemoaned as she continued fixing up some stitches.
“Sorry,” Twilight blushed as she instinctively took a bite of her doughnut, sprinkling a few crumbs in the process.
As she saw this, Rarity immediately snapped. “And can you please stop eating for two minutes?! You’re going to get powdered sugar all over this dress!”
Twilight swallowed hard as she quickly glanced at the doughnut in question. “Well, that’s easier said than done,” she sighed. “I just can’t get these cravings under control. At least I haven’t gotten any bigger.”
“Hmm,” Rarity sternly murmured under breath as she stood up straight and waddled a few steps back, eyeing Twilight’s massive body up and down. “Have you thought about…”
But Twilight quickly cut her off before she could finish her question. “Thought about what? Eating less? I would if I could, but I can’t seem to go for more than an hour without needing to eat something. One moment, I’m fine. Next thing I know, I’m stuffing my face with something sugary or salty or greasy. And I don’t even stop myself! I just shrug it off and keep eating because… I don’t even know! I guess maybe since I started it, I may as well finish it. You know what I mean?”
Rarity simply stared awkwardly at her friend for a moment, eyes wide with concern before finally speaking up. “Darling, I was just going to ask if you thought about doing something different with your hair?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah.” Twilight suddenly remembered that she was still in the middle of getting her dress resized. “I’ll see what I can do,” she shrugged, feeling embarrassed for getting herself worked up again. “I just hate making you do all this so close to the wedding. I thought I’d be a few sizes smaller by now.”
“Nonsense. There is still plenty of time,” Rarity assured as she leaned back down and continued to work, occasionally muttering to herself. “Hmm… maybe lighter-colored stockings…”
“Well, in any case,” Twilight continued. “I just hope I don’t eat up half the banquet during their vows. I’m already going to be the biggest elephant in the room. I’d hate to be such a distraction.”
“Oh, don’t worry. There’ll be a couple other elephants in the room to lighten things up,” Rarity remarked as she looked up at her hefty friend with a wink and a smirk. “Who knows? If Rainbow Dash can make it, she can have the honor of being the biggest.”
“Fine by me. She does like being the center of attention,” Twilight jokingly scoffed as the two of them began to laugh.
Just in time to catch her two large bridesmaids chuckling amongst themselves, Cadance stepped into the bedroom, smiling curiously as she was fixing up a decorative bow in her hands. “Did I miss something?”
“Oh, Twilight’s just worried about her weight again,” Rarity explained as she caught her breath.
“It’s not so much my weight I’m worried about,” Twilight sighed with a roll of her eyes. “It’s the fact that I still can’t lose any of it.”
“Well, I’m not sure how much I can help with that. I’ve been on this diet for so long, I feel I’ve been having my own cravings lately,” Cadance admitted with slight shrug, rubbing her soft and hungry belly. “In fact, that half-eaten doughnut you’re holding is starting to look pretty tempting.”
“I can understand, but please hold out a little while longer,” Rarity asked in a slightly terse tone of voice, sounding almost desperate not to resize another outfit. “At least until after the wedding?”
Just as Cadance was about to sneak the tasty treat from Twilight’s hand, she stopped herself and tried to laugh it off. “I know, I’m just joking. I am serious about the cravings, though. I’ve only had them for about a week now, but I think it could be an early sign that I might be preg-”
“OUCH!”
“Twilight, I told you to hold still!”
Before Cadance can continue her thought, however, she decided it can wait another time.
Oh it depends, my friend…
