Vinyl Scratch put her leather jacket on and tossed her car keys into one of the jacket’s pockets. It was lazy, too lazy for Vinyl, Sunday afternoon and the mare had felt the need to get out and do something. It was a brisk, late autumn day and soon winter would be here.
Octavia had said they could do something there at home but that didn’t satisfy Vinyl’s urge for adventure.
Closing the front door the mare was heading down the walkway when she heard Octavia’s voice call from the second floor of their cottage.
“Vinyl dear. Where are you going?”
Turning around and looking Vinyl spied Octavia leaning out the window wearing…well not that much, but what she was wearing she looked very good in. Suddenly the unicorn realized what Octavia had referring to when she’d said they could do something there at home. Suddenly Vinyl wasn’t interesting going out to find adventure.
“Uh, um Octy, I was just going out to the car. I think I forgot something in it.” The mare lied.
“Oh. Alright then. If you’re wondering I’m still interested in doing something if you are.” Then she slowly turned and walked away from the window.
Vinyl watched her partner move out of sight. Then she slowly, as slowly as she force herself to, counted to 30. Then she headed back inside. That other adventure would just have to wait for another day.
