I think that’s a problem more related to the show than the memes. While I already addressed some of the issues I have with the show (being too long, filler episodes, status quo and lack of self awareness), I think these problems arrived because the show didn’t get with the times, unlike Steven Universe or Gravity Falls.
As a result, many fans were too benevolent with the show they loved and didn’t consider some criticisms until “it was too late”. That’s why seasons 8 and 9 get a bad rap. While I agree with some of the criticisms I’ve read last year, they should have complained about these issues at the moment, not when season 9 was in the air.
But it’s still a pretty good show nonetheless. I really like season 5, I love Crusaders of the Lost Mark, Rarity Takes Manehattan shows a high level of maturity I wish it was maintained for a kids show, I like the finale and I even liked a couple of Starlight episodes in a moment where I already lost hope on her. Was the show chaotic? Yeah, but we still have wonderful episodes. And that’s something we should appreciate.

I think the peak of Friendship is Magic was in 2011 and 2012, so seeing this type of content is always a plus to me.
Yeah, that’s something that I have issue with, since I was still in middle school when the show ‘peaked’ 10 years ago.
By the time I realized what a ‘brony’ was, those memes had been dead for 5 whole years.

I don’t mind though. I think the peak of Friendship is Magic was in 2011 and 2012, so seeing this type of content is always a plus to me.
