Ponies are cute while crying as well as sad, this pic hits both marks. Yes Sunny looks cute while crying but I can’t help but get misty eyed at the context of this art. Poor Sunny. And I appreciate both of Sunny’s oldest friends, Sprout included, are there for this scene. Whatever it is before or after the movie they were a trio before and something familiar that Sunny would want to embrace when things get tough. Love it!

If just that amount of time has passed before the movie, you’d think she’d at least look slightly upset still when she passes by his photo and glasses after waking up.

This is a beautiful painting showing sadness even with Sprout one of her friends.

With that being said, I hate the idea of Sunny’s dream of reunification being just for father’s sake especially to cope. I always felt like Sunny did her actions because she belived it was good for all ponies, because she loves them. For an altruitic purpose not to cope with her fatherless state.

Honestly I kind of hate the idea Sumny is miserable because she has no father, Sunny was miserable because she felt like failed to win them over to a better way of living.
