Description
I need to introduce more characters and families for future story scenes, so I started easy with this one.
Here is Aega and her mums!
Her design is heavily inspired by those ‘reformed Chrysalis’ images, and it really matches so well with Celestia’s colourscheme too!

So this was one of the early pairings I had for my AU since I started building it a few years ago, before the last season and end of the show. Originally the story and method of reformation for Chryssi was going to be different, but I do want to keep as much of my nextgen AU as close to canon as possible, and I liked certain tie-ins it gave for other characters, so my newer story is that Chryssi got the chance to be reformed after being turned to stone alongside Tirek and Cozy Glow, and ended up loving Celestia, who loved her right back.
Celestias hair has a gold streak in my AU, similar to Twi, because I honestly love Celestia designs that add a bit of natural gold to her to match that cutiemark and the whole ‘sun’ theme. It does have canon reasons for being there though other than ‘Tia got a bit older’.
Celestia didn’t plan or want to have children, being an immortal ruler it was something she never allowed herself, for many reasons. It wasn’t super hard before or during her sisters banishment, due to the chaos of the era with her sister and their being new rulers, and during her sisters banishment she spent a lot of time training up students trying to find one worthy of weilding the elements and saving her sister.
When Chrysalis and her got together she still wasn’t onboard with kids, still trying to be the best leader she could be, spurred on by how many incidents they had gone through since Twilight and her friends had emerged, but Chrysalis’ love magic wouldn’t be stopped and she ended up having an egg anyway fueled by just their love for each other, and thus Aega was born(hatched). And of course Celestia adores her daughter.
I did consider giving Aega siblings, but I didn’t end up loving any of the designs I could come up with, and it felt right for her to be alone with her mums. She still has lots of hive-siblings anyways!
Chryssi probably has some…. perks.
