I definitely like the idea that Cadance was going to be her first choice to helm a new generation of The Elements of Harmony and potentially succeed as a Princess of Equestria until Twilight’s burst of magical prowess convinced her otherwise.

It would certainly be much easier to find true friends that wouldn’t be imtimidated by you if you don’t start out as a physical demigod.

Be interesting if Cadance was Celestia’s backup for Nightmare Moon’s return in case Twi accidentally fell off a cliff or exploded herself with alchemy or something.

For a while she might even have been debating which one to groom to send.
