Suddenly this has gone in my mind from being “oh, /mlp/ being /mlp/” to “well that’s interesting”. I look forward to see where this is going with cautious anticipation.

That’s how Faust wanted the episode originally. The project is still doing rough draft scripts, so anyone who submits is free to alter the Mane 6 interactions as they see fit.

You can probably submit a script still. If you’re not much of a writer or editor, you may want to keep an eye on the project if you have some talent or experience in voice acting, animating, or story boarding.

Presumably Applejack’s family values would override her Honesty, since taking this pony/deer away from his adopted family just because they’re deer would be notsogood to her.

Applejack’s Honesty should have her telling the pony he’s a pony, while Dash’s Loyalty would have her encourage them to stay with their adopted friends and family.

It’s based on an episode Faust had in mind. AJ and RD would find a pony who was adopted by deers and treated as one, complete with sticks tied to his heads as antlers. The conflict was whether to tell the deer pone of his true heritage and bring him back to live with ponies, which is what RD wants, or to leave him alone, which is what AJ wants.
 
Last time I checked, they’re on the 10th thread and they already have a few scripts from various anons, a few of which have gotten good reception. For me, my favorite one is one which follows Faust’s vision, but includes Spike, to point out that he too is an outsider. There’s a brilliant part in which RD and AJ are arguing their points, and at one point RD screams that the deer pone “doesn’t belong with them, because he’s not one of them,” but when Spike hears this it makes him cry and run away.
 
It’s only a matter of picking one script and then revising and editing it until it looks good, and then moving on to things like finding VAs and animators.

watched 5 minutes of Dusk’s Dawn

So…WHY a deer pony? (other than /mlp/ writing the “furry” episode being suitable)

Funny, no problems on my end. Was able to grasp the story, didn’t have a problem with the dialog and while some things were drawn out, they were not unbearable. Look no further than Dusk’s Dawn for something that one can barely sit through.

Though this episodes has the potential to crash and burn like the Hindenburg, I feel an episode that examines the situation intelligently and from numerous angles could be a fascinating and entertaining viewing. I await the result with quiet optimism.

It was pretty bad story-wise, the dialog was poor and awkward, plus the rhythm and pacing were awful.
 
The rest of it was good but…It’s a cartoon, so the lack of those things I’ve listed made it hard to sit through.
