True, but my point was he got fewer appearances, and speaking roles. Also, actually he did contribute a bit to the story in the first movie when Sunset tried to frame Twilight.

I really don’t think his role was ever that large in the first place. You can literally take him out of any of the movies and practically nothing would change.

I’m surprised at how some people think that Dash was being disrespectful of her friends when trying to imitate them. The whole point of these scenes is that Rainbow Dash was trying to get the Thunderbolts to think she was awesome. What could be more flattering to her friends than to see her turn to them for inspiration?

I actually agree with that. Though, they claim the fanbase doesn’t influence the show, some minor things do.
 
Notice, how Flash Sentry’s role diminished in the newer EqG movies? (Probably, due to fan hate of him, or the current show runners trying to respect Faust’s old mandate that the mane 6 can’t have boyfriends. Though, I think they never planned on making FlashLight canon anyways, and were just going to tease it.)

Yet another point in favor of completely segregating writers from the fan community.  
It’s hard enough to tell a good story without having to worry about pandering.

I hear originally, it was going to, but they were afraid it’d make her look bad, (considering Spike’s feelings about her, it probably would have angered fans) so they replaced her with AJ instead.
 
Ironically, because of that Rarity was the only main character to not get an ep’ in Season 3.

I think ‘Cat’s point was that the episode should have featured Rarity, instead of Applejack, if only to clear the air between her and Spike.

To be fair, Dashie has let her ego, and stuff ‘cause her to do dumb things before, but she’s still a kind person/pony.
 
I actually liked “Spike at your Service,” despite it’s issues, but from what I recall, Rarity wasn’t really in it much. Are we thinking of the same ep’?
 
Funny thing is the closest ep’ to being one I hated was last year’s “Scare Master,” but I haven’t really met anyone else who disliked it.

To this day, I still have no real problem with “The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well” or even “Princess Spike.” I’m still not even sure why either are hated so much, though I can grasp the root problems.
 
The only episode I truly didn’t like, was “Spike at your Service.” The chance of a lifetime to see Spike treat Rarity like a Queen, but realize that it’s maybe not the best idea. Also, Rarity learning that taking advantage of Spike’s kindness and goodwill isn’t good either. Complete and utter waste of an episode and it’s premise. The only bits that I watch the episode for are Twi being adorkable (because duh) and the whole bit at Rarity’s place. The rest can go straight to Hell.
 
So honestly, an episode (or two) where Rainbow Dash acts like a fucking moron? Hardly an issue. Besides, she’s a cocky bitch and watching her get tossed under a bus makes for good TV.

That’s pretty much my attitude too. I understand some blind-overly-positive-fanboyism iare annoying, but I also find it annoying that whenever you don’t hate an episode like “Newbie Dash,” people then assume you’re some blind “Hasdrone,” or something, or that you’re attacking them, just because you say you liked the ep’. It’s like being back in 2013 again with all the Season 3/Twilicorn/EqG drama again. They act like any positivity is a bad thing. (And vice-versa.)
 
I’ve been accused of both being “too positive,” or “too negative” oddly. (Though, I’m generally mostly positive about the show.)

the show missed a perfectly good chance to say that ‘Rainbow Dash always dresses in style’ that episode.
