I put the blame on the “DO Bite The Hand That Feeds You” mentality that most companies were doing once Disney took control over Star Wars and George Lucas gave creative control to a glorified Coffee Girl whose only means to success was stealing the backroom keys and graffiti’ing her name into the “Producer” and “Executive Producer” credits of nearly every Lucas or Spielberg production at the time. A Coffee Girl who for all intents and purposes decided to shut down LucasFilms’ own dedicated Video Game Production Team to instead pursue an Exclusivity Deal with Electronic Arts: the absolute worst scumbag game company that has gone on record for overworking their own employees, bribing game critics, gutting the development teams of smaller game studios they had bought out, and having earned the 2012 AND 2013 Golden Poo Award for “Worst Company In America”…

Suffice to say, a LOT of bad decisions happened once Kathleen Kennedy was given the reins, and those decisions were also mirrored by other companies wanting to jump onto the same schtick as the Star Wars bandwagon was doing, mostly on the grounds that Star Wars is such a big name that it could not possibly even fail. Except when it did; and Kathleen Kennedy and her minions and cronies decided to go off CYBER-BULLYING their own core audience for not liking their product. Real mature decision that was.

It seems the new MLP game does in fact have voice acting, and the VAs from ‘Tell your Tale’ and the ‘Make your Mark’ special are the ones that did it. Nice to see that, as I really was worried that it wouldn’t have voice acting.

In other words, Hasbro should have done what Sega did with Sonic Mania. That was also largely a fan game that Sega bought the rights to and distributed for home console. Lo and behold, it is still better than anything that Sonic Team has put out.

Such a concept could have been quite profitable for Hasbro had they pursued it. Instead, all we got was the Gameloft game for mobile phones which, while not a terrible game, is far from what we could have seen for G4.

Probably because Hasbro was busy running around C&D’ing smalltime fan made game developers trying their hands at making their own style of G4 Video games. To think that such shortsightedness cost them a chance to expand their profits by using the small potatoes to give them a subtle boost of creativity for official products.

We could have easily gotten a quality Gen 4 RPG on top of a Fallout: Equestria or a Dark Souls-inspired Rainbow Factory game.

Hopefully they replace the heads of the current sfm porn models too. I’m tired of seeing the same head models kp-shadowsquirrel did a decade ago.

Come to think of it, you have a point. Most small budget games lack voice acting altogether, and even a few small budget games don’t have voice acting for most of the character interactions (good example of this is Pokemon, which almost entirely uses text for communication). As such, the MLP game may very well lack dialogue, meaning that the VAs for the show may not appear at all in the game.

Yes, the PS5/Series X and PC releases will get slightly better visuals, but don’t expect it to look as good as the movie. The devs certainly aren’t going to put in that much money into a game targeting kids.

I hope they release a high-def version for older kids with Forza-grade graphics like the movie.

I say “older” cause let’s be real here, not many parents have the $$$+ for a high-end gaming PC to run it all.

I find the fact that g4 never got a console game release to be quite strange, since (if I recall correctly) g3 did have a game release of its own for the Nintendo GBA.

G5 is off to a rip roaring good start, not only with a super successful movie on Netflix which premiered at Number 1 in many countries. But now G5 has what even G4 didn’t have, a game for consoles.

Eh, you would be surprised. I have seen much larger games than this run on an iPhone (not to mention the 6.1” display on most iPhones is not all that far off from the 7” display found on the Switch).

Trust me, many Switch games look like that. Naturally I believe that the final version running on the Xbox or Playstation family of consoles will look a lot better than this, but as the only version announced has been the Switch version, these are the visuals that will come with that specific version of the game.

iPadOS? Seriously? Honestly, if it were released on that OS then you know it will also be released to iOS, as well. After all, the devs would want to release this game to as many people as possible, plus the iPhone is definitely capable enough to handle this kind of game (as the SOC is far more powerful than the one found on the Switch).

But yeah, I do believe that this game will be released on all platforms, not just the Switch (though you should also know that the Switch is still one of the best selling consoles out there, so there are a lot of people that own Switch consoles that can play the game). It will be interesting to see how this game runs, especially on the Switch with its weaker hardware.

Graphically it still looks more like an original Wii game, but maybe that’s just because it’s the beta…

It’s a bad move by OutRight Games imo to just release it for one platform. Put this on iPadOS, Xbox, and the PS5.
