When Lessons Don’t Stick
Ah… gosh, I’m so happy I found the time to make another picture. Felt good getting the drawing tablet out again and having a few days to sketch. Oh, and to show you guys I’m not dead or anything. Just been super busy as per usual.
But now to the drawing!
There have been plenty of My Little Pony villains who’ve had one of two options to choose from: reform and live harmoniously with the rest of the community OR lose everything you’ve worked for and sink to the bottom of the barrel. The ones depicted in this chose, erm, the latter. Then again, wasn’t Sludge kind of already at the bottom of the barrel? Eh, whatever.
A good kid show needs a healthy balance of reformed villains and non-reformed villains in my humble opinion. Teaching children that not everybody in the world will change for the better or even change at all. These particular villains, or I should say “antagonists” since I don’t technically qualify Iron Will as a villain, never did learn the magic Twilight and her friends tried teaching them. Svengallop lost his star client, Sludge left a juvenile dragon crushed and depressed after lying about being his father (I’d hope that’d affect Sludge somehow), Zesty Gourmand lost all street credit when she turned her nose up at Canterlot’s best restaurant “The Tasty Treat”, Lightning lost the respect of Scootaloo and her peers, Wind lost his WonderBolt status, Gladmane lost his business, Suri Polomare lost her assistant and most likely went bankrupt for lack of originality, the Storm King freaking died, and Iron Will… well… every business endeavor he’s tried has ended up in him either running away or merely moving on to the next big money maker. Cleary the lessons the Mane Six tried demonstrating did not stick.
Thus here they are at a night club, reliving their glory days with each other and some probably getting a little wasted on hard cider.
If I did have to pick one to feel pity for, though, it’d be Wind Rider. Yeah, the guy was a tool, but he placed all of his self worth on his WonderBolt status, determined to not let Rainbow Dash beat his record, and then was kicked out of the team in his glory days. Now what does he have? Oh, that’ll go into my head canon later…

Ah yes, the most of the Hate Sinks are here, but we’re missing Spoiled Rich.
Meanwhile Iron Will and Lightning Dust aren’t Hate Sinks, but just never absorbed lessons as much as the others which are hatable characters.

The forgettable villains, the fandom barely remembers. Poor one out to the Forgettables
