This version of Lancer is from that idea I told you in my OCs I’m working on with a friend.
 
Lancer is a soldier in the Royal Guard, but he’d rather have his head in the books than with his armor on to guard the princesses.
 
An avid reader, Lancer often comes off too weak by other ponies who see him as a liability because of his lack of strength. But he makes up for it with a sharp wit and amazing cunning, allowing him to handle any situation he gets thrown into.
 
He also has a great deal of faith in his friends, since he was among those who believed Fencer was innocent when he had been accused of crimes against Canterlot. That kind of faith is rewarded when he reunites with his old friend, and he will make sure he doesn’t let him down.
