It took a while to get the setting for this one right and it took some try and error. Among other an earlier attempt failed because the sculpture was too prone to topple over when just two or three legs were on the ground. A metal plate underneath the “forest floor” (which made this project the most tea consuming I have ever made ;)) and some magnets were helping. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to finish the animation without some unwanted shifting of trees on the left side (but attempts to fix it digitally were not improving it), and there are some rough jumps. Because of daylight and the running time of my camera batery taking the pictures was a bit of a race against time so some of the motions are not as smooth as could be; but altogether I am satisfied with how this more complex animation turned out.
Thanks a lot, BigBuggyBastage :)
A good thing with the pipe cleaner ponys is that they are relatively easy to pose. On the other hand there are limits (e.g. no reasonable way to change facial expressions). With this animation I had to use some magnets and a metal plate underneath the diorama to keep Skyfeather from toppling over whenever there were only two hooves on the ground.
Thank you kindly, Princesstwi :)
Still it’s amazing
Thank you very much, Princesstwi :)
It is a lot of fun to create the background setting for such animations. I mustn’t take too long when it comes to taking the actual pictures to avoid the running out of sufficient daylight and my camera battery ;)
For me the trickiest part (at this time of the year in particular) is to get sufficient constant daylight so all the pictures have a similar illumination. It doesn’t work well with what artificial light I got (would be great to have a photo studio ;D). But I love setting up the background for such animations ;)
Thank you very much, Great_Honor :)
