I genuinely saw one “prank” video, maybe in 2013 or 2014, where they put a fake kidnap victim in the trunk of a car to make “help me, I’m kidnapped” noises while a would-be-buyer was trying out a car. One bald guy bailed while the car was moving at slower speeds in a parking lot. I commented something like “How are these guys not arrested?”

Of course, there’s a possibility that all people in the video are in on it, but they passed it off as the genuine article. I have more faith in a pebble than I have in this trash.

It seems likely that my dear grandma would have hated these pranks, and for solidly good reason.

Internet pranks are extreme. Someone tried to start a prank channel but was shot and killed because he wasn’t aware that in them, everyone is in on it.
