Remember different races of ponies could reproduce, as seen with the Cake twins, Wind Sprint, and later shown with Scootaloo. It’s completely likely most of these earth ponies at some point of time, reproduced mainly with earth ponies, diluting their mixed genes to the point where their births became mono racial again
