Okay so I’m not dead- at least- completely dead  
But I’m back! With Chrysalis and changeling headcanons!  
Queen Chrys is one of my favorite villains,, and I personally hate how she was handled in canon, so, time for TONS of headcanons/retcons!  
Chrysalis is a lot more intelligent than the show. Basically everything post-changeling reformation is completely deleted. She has some history with Celestia- they’re totally not gay for eachother noooo…  
On to her appearance. Her frill and back-fin puff up under intense emotions, specifically anger and fear. She can willingly puff them up to be intimidating, though. She also has these eyelash-antennae thing but that’s just for aesthetics. She doesn’t have as many holes as her canon counterpart, but I tried my best to give her a ‘starved’ look with the VERY pulled in waist. Chrysalis’ wings cannot fly in her base form, so she must shapeshift to fly. Her horn is sharp and surprisingly durable. She can use it for many things- stabbing, digging, etc. She has a sort of combo of mandibles and a normal equine face. She has more traditional mandibles inside her mouth. She is capable of producing several substances using those mandibles, such as the green slime-like substance used for the cocoons that changelings put creatures in.
 
Changelings don’t quite have a hive mind, but the queen can sense the general emotions of the hive, and the changelings can sense the queen’s emotions.
 
ALSO! Gender is a social construct for changelings. They don’t really get ‘pronouns’ at all. You’re just you. So in general, most species approach changelings using they/them or it/its pronouns, but some changelings do have firm gender identities.
 
There’s not just one hive. Chrysalis’ hive in particular feeds off love, but other hives can feed on other emotions.
 
Changelings are extremely powerful shapeshifters, but they have some limitations. If they loose a limb, it’s gone, no matter if they transform or not. While they may be able to produce something that looks like a limb, it won’t be able to move it as you would a normal limb. If a changeling transforms into something too different from their original form, they will struggle to adapt to their new form. They will experience nausea and have some trouble moving at first.
 
Instead of Starlight reforming the changelings, it was Spike, Discord, Trixie, Thorax and Big Mac. It was a combined effort from each of them- even though they were captured for the most part like before. Thorax joins Discord, Spike, and Big Mac for Ogres and Oubliettes when he has the time. Trixie would have joined.. but she was actually already in a campaign! Besides, she didn’t want to intrude on their hangout.
 
Thorax and Pharynx are ‘royal’ changelings- same with Ocellus. Since there wasn’t a need for a royal changeling after Thorax reformed and Ocellus was still young, she hasn’t fully metamorphosed. Pharynx, however, was fully grown and is half metamorphosed- if Thorax died Pharynx would step up as leader of the changeling hive. Same with Ocellus if both Thorax and Pharynx were dead-
 

 
Okay okay, now we get into the weird stuff. I have a lot of headcanons about.. Blueblood?
 
Blueblood is the illegitimate son of Chrysalis and Celestia. Blueblood is just a disguise of a unicorn he thought would fit in- but is a complete stereotype. Somehow.. he gets away with it. Celestia truly does love him, but suddenly popping in with a hybrid son when changelings were still intensely feared.. wasn’t going to end well for her or her new son. He’s gotten used to life this way.  
Blueblood is technically speaking a changeling queen- the only reason he hasn’t started a hive is because he doesn’t exactly have a need. He’s a pampered little child already. If he were to ever have any eggs- he’d find a way to smuggle them out of Canterlot- probably to Queen Chrys- there totally aren’t two canon characters that are his sons. Cough cough, Thorax and Pharynx, cough cough.  
He has an extended lifespan both from alicorn genes and being a changeling queen- he occasionally has to change up his appearance and claim he’s the son of the last Blueblood.
