BTW, in case you’re wondering, No, I don’t watch Spirit Riding Free or Sophia the First at all. I only know about them because, my little sisters use to watch them a lot. But I bring those up because I feel both of those shows, while having good writing, wonderful atmosphere and enjoyable characters you can relate too, are strictly for girls. We, boys, are not the target audience for those shows. But we can at least still appreciate the essay put into those shows.

I definitely agree with that. Frankly I think children in general need better shows nowadays, regardless of gender. That is why I appreciate shows that actually strive to do more than simply appeal to the lowest common denominator. That was why I ended up liking Friendship is Magic during a time where I thought it was just going to be another cheesy kids show along the lines of Monster High or Bratz, or possibly the later seasons of Spongebob or Fairly Odd Parents.

I’m not saying G5 will be all nothing but tea parties and dressing up and “Tee hee hee” or anything like that. It will probably be a great girls show with a lot of real effort put in. Maybe something like Spirit Riding Free and Sophia the First mixed with more comedic elements. That’s the thing about G1 and G3, G3 specifically, while colorful and well designed, there was no effort thrown in. As I said before, girls deserve better shows nowadays.

I don’t like either Powerpuff Girls or Sailor Moon. But you be you, I guess. And by ‘truly for little girls’ you mean cheesy. Frankly, I don’t think children from this day and age, whether it be boy or girl, would be interested in that kind of thing. Times change, man, and you need to understand that. G5 MLP won’t be anything like G3 MLP. Frnkly, it sounds like it will be more like G4 MLP. The fact that the creators of G5 are specifically adding elements that cater to bronies proves that.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is such a revolutionary show and we have the wonderful Lauren Faust to thank for that. It appeals to everyone both female and male very much like Powerpuff Girls or even Sailor Moon. The older generations ere MLP:FiM were truly for little girls. Faust said she made the show for girls and their parents to watch together.

Was MLP ever not for young girls? No, it was not. G4 was created specifically with young girls being the target audience. The good writing and character development was what attracted the other fans. If G5 has good writing and character development as well, then it will attract both the young girl demographic as well as the older fans. I honestly think that is their true intent.

I feel G5 will return to being for young girls again. Does that make it bad? Well, the answer to that is obviously no. Since Hasbro learned from experience with FiM, they’ll probably make G5 smart with really good writing and characters. Besides, girls deserve better shows nowadays. but, the thing about G5 is that I feel it will not have that cultural phenomenon impact that G4 brilliantly had. But those are my thoughts. We’ll wait and see what happens. For now, this is the only info we got.

That isn’t the logo they will use. Why do I know that? Because The North Face would sue Hasbro if they tried to use that logo. It is too similar to the North Face logo.
