Which kind of begs the question, why? As far as they knew, Starlights magic was just as weakened by the loss of her mark as theirs was. And the ‘magic’ stick couldn’t do anything to them since they already lacked their Marks.

Actually, they come off as really stupid, since as far as they know, Starlight poses no threat to them. And if Starlight showed otherwise, the gig would have been up for her anyways, because it would show she lied.

It actually showed Starlight considered them all friends by the fact she didn’t do anything to any of them once they found out the true. With her magic, none of them, including the Mane 6, posed any threat. Instead, she chose to run into her house to avoid a conflict where she could have easily just taken them all out.

She never actually said that. I just watched the episodes through. It sounds more like everyone that came to that village before Twilight, willingly gave their Mark’s at first. It was only later they had second thoughts but didn’t want to cross Starlight.

Think about it. How would you feel if someone barged into your life, crapped over everything you believe, and then take everything you possess/own?

Actually, her second appearance is the Best motivation in the show. From Starlights POV, The Mane 6 stole everything from her. Her home, a bunch of ponies she thought of as friends, and all her possessions. And destroyed her vision of what she thought was the right thing to do. From her POV, Twilight was the evil one.

… You mean the fact she got jealous over her friend getting a cutie mark and feared she’ll be abandoned and immediately, on the spot, decided that “cutie marks are evil”… and would go as far as to break time and destroy the future…?

I don’t know, feels like a biiiig stretch to me.

Not saying much considering every other villains motivations in this show. Starlights is way better then Sunsets, Nightmare Moons, Discords, Stygians, Neighsays, Cozy Glows, Sombras. In fact, Starlights motivations are the best in the show compared to everyone else’s.

Well same thing happened in Rainbow Rocks and that was throughout an entire movie with little to no breaks. At least season 6 actually had long breaks from it. On top of that it plays into her arc in that season, especially in the finale
