They became the forgotten mane five after G5 came along. I mean, Hasbro completely skipped any lore on them and just moved forward to a new start pretty early without really thinking anything through, so it’s a shame. At least the fandom can still make their own lore and ideas for them, probably will be even better than whatever Hasbro makes canon.
