In my experience they squint and slowly move away from the finger. That is if they let you boop them at all.
I wish they did that to me, since I know a diff between a gentle nibble and [warning] biting. That’d be better than straight up ignoring me.

I tried it on too many cats to count, but it was hard to get a cat to stay still, and I don’t wanna try picking up one just for that.

In my experience barely any cat even remotely liked me, more like tolerated, but when I boop a cat or a kitten they just act like nothing happened. Even when I booped for 2nd time right after. That’s why I’m wondering if cats even feel the boop.
So it’s pretty damn boring to do to a cat, so I’m not bothering trying it anymore.
