she was part of an experimental brain surgery to combine the minds of two ponies into one body. they used uh… sociopathic criminals as test subjects so that it would be ok. it wasn’t ok.
ironically the experiment was a success, since each half had the empathic function the other lacked, so their combination is a pretty nice mare. but she has self esteem issues, so she ends up acting like one or the other whenever she has to socialize.
and by socialize I mean murder everyone in sight.
