Well, conceptually, you’d be right. Twilight could act, behave and react as if nothing happened and for all intents and purposes is still the adorkable bookworm we all know and love. Just plus wings.  
But the reality is, our perception of Twilight has now changed, even in the very act of thinking nothing is going to change we now have this new thought pattern associated with Twilight that we didn’t before, so our act of experiencing Twilight has changed, even if objectively the twilight we’re exposed to is the same.  
And due to the subjective nature of human experience and the fact we can hold several conflicting notions simultaneously, One person can watch ‘new’ Twilight and have a negative opionion and another a positive, even if content is identical in the before and after manner, because the very notion that change was a possibility, and one needs out of show assurances, has a profound effect on a veiwer enjoyment of the character.
 
Or thats what my armchair pshycology thinks…

I’ve got more faith in the writers than that. Besides, you heard Tara; Twilight’s not going to be changing much.

Its not the wings that bother me, its the fact that she’s a princess now, something that was unnessesary

And just what is your logical basis for thinking that. The only thing that’s absolutely, positively confirmed is that Twilight can fly. End of story.

Great, your one of those people who go all “your tears are delicious trolol” but if you wanna know its simple, when i started watching the show i liked it for its characters and how good it was,now its just gonna be the average stereotypical little girl show it avoided being when it first started

Kinda reminds me of a different headcannon I heard about when the whole Twilicorn stuff was just getting started. Said that the princesses banish each other to the sun/moon on a cycle, every one thousand years, that their immortal existence kept driving Celestia and Luna insane in a cycle. They created Cadence and Twilight as a way to try and break the cycle.
