Yea, but she was treated like that without the knowledge of her true intentions and without knowing how she actually interpreted the school’s teachings. Because of this, they could not successfully help her understand it due to her own predisposed skewed views.
Going back to Discord and, by extension, Starlight, both were given second chances, help and proper teaching from Fluttershy and Twilight despite them knowing just who those two were and what they did and were capable of.
And onto Sunset, she’s actually another good example of this. She was Celestia’s student, someone whom no doubt received a lot of kindness and teaching from her and was overall in a very privileged position, yet she still went down the route that she did. In other words, just like Cozy, she was treated well, yet still decided to do bad things. With her redemption, its not that she just worked towards it, its that she was given the opportunity to do so, via Twilight, who convinced her friends to help her achieve that, and Celestia, who was also willing to give her a second chance in school.
The fundamental issue is that Cozy was never provided those opportunities. Nobody tried to help her understand why her views were wrong and no one offered her a second chance. They just skipped all of that and gave her the harshest punishments they could. Because of that, there is no real way of knowing if she could chance for the better or not. All the reformed villains only reformed because they were given those second chances and the help to do so. Cozy received none of that.

with discord is to discuss the subject more extensively (I never liked the fim discord and I always prefer the one from the comics)
but the thing about cozy is that from the beginning she was treated well and with love, literally the knowledge of friendship that she uses is because twilight and her friends taught it to her, the cmc helped her, the young 6, everyone reached out to her and gave her a hand and she is the one who chose to be bad and about giving her opportunities I’ll put it this way
sunset shimmer nobody trusted her, they didn’t see her capable of changing after just stealing a crown and making a mess with it, serious yes, but not nearly as destructive as what cozy did, nobody wanted to give sunset a chance and what did she do? She wiped away her tears and earned that opportunity and redemption because she wanted it
Cozy didn’t want redemption at all, her face of terror is because she is paying the consequences of her actions, not because she felt or knew that they were wrong
@Gmaplay
No he didn’t. Discord knew that the purpose of his release was to give him a second chance, hence an offer of friendship and forgiveness, after which he literally mocked the Main 6 for trying to reform him. And even after all that, he still betrayed Fluttershy for Tirek and would likely remain on his side had he not been betrayed. All of those were done by his own free will with complete meaning.
I’m not saying Cozy wasn’t bad, but I firmly believe that if they put half the amount of effort into reforming her as they did with Discord, she would have completely changed her ways, or at the very least stop being evil. I believe this because Frenemies showed potential and because she was never given any sort of second chance.
@Background Pony #613A
The thing is that Fluttershy offered Discord friendship and help and he accepted it, Twilight and Starlight always treated Cozy well and offered her friendship and she immediately thought of using her for evil, she became corrupted and became evil, meaning she had no reason to become evil, she just wanted to be that way by her own will.
@Gmaplay
Discord also didn’t want it, and why would she want it suddenly if it was never offered to her? She was given no reason to change her ways, unlike some others.
@Background Pony #613A
Because she didn’t even want that, I mean they showed her more affection than other characters had received (Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, the dragon race, etc.) She was given support and help and decided of her own free will to become evil, she didn’t want to be rehabilitated.
@Gmaplay
Except that Cozy never had a reason to show remorse because nobody tried to rehabilitate her or convince her otherwise. The fact of the matter is that if Discord and Starlight got those chances, then its only fair that Cozy gets them as well.
@Background Pony #613A
And with Discord the issue is getting worse, he betrayed Fluttershy and the girls with Tirek, he came up with an idiotic plan where he gave power to the 3 worst villains of Equestria and caused the fourth to destroy the elements of harmony, he constantly causes chaos against the Mane 6, he almost broke their friendship twice, his stupidities put Equestria at risk 3 times, ETC.
@Background Pony #613A
In fact, yes, Discord and Starlight had it very easy and comfortable in their redemptions despite destroying reality, causing directly and indirectly many deaths, devastation, “discord”, separation, damage, attack on authority, among other damages
As a friend told me
Starlight’s crime: Genocide like 7 times
Twilight: Poor thing :<
Sunset’s crime: Kleptomania
Twilight: You lost your right to have a left lung
Conclusion: Starlight deserved to have a more difficult and slow redemption (at least) and Cozy for not showing remorse did deserve petrification. If you gave her the chance, she would have committed multiple homicides.
Forgive the one who tried to kill you many times and you will see how he will pay you back, stop him once and for all and you will see a better tomorrow for everyone.
@Background Pony #5C4E
Imagine thinking that everyone hated the reformed villains. You do realize plenty of people loved having Starlight reform, right? Its also worth noting that the biggest criticism against the reformations was how they were handled, IE how Starlight’s came so quickly. The trio, meanwhile were well built up for rehabilitation, did not need to be turned to stone considering that the rainbow laser attack depowered them and the fact that one of them was a literal child.
Oh I see.
Edited
And your point is? XD
Ow the edge
Still redeemable. At least moreso then Discord.
edgy boy, do you want a tweat :3
