Well, sass and sarcasm are two different things. They are top sass, no argument there, but any time Spike uses sarcasm Garble and the others dragons don’t get it and take it literally.
 
As for the “brother” statement, there is a problem. Aside from the fact that they look nothing alike, that very episode shows that the mother and father dragons are not around when the eggs hatch and the eggs basically “colonially” hatch all at once. It is just as likely Smolder is related to Thod as she is to Prominence as she is to Garble since that would paint it that they all were part of the same mass hatching, but with nothing to identify who was blood related to anyone else. At best, it means Smolder and Garble spent time together.

What are you talking about? Smolder says outright in the show itself “Garble is my brother.” It’s not debatable.
 
Side note, dragons are best at sarcasm. Their whole existence is just top sass.

Dragons are actually terribly at lying. If we’re to believe that garble and smolder are actually siblings, then that is actually the case as Garble never says a lie to Spike, he’s very blunt about all things he says and doesn’t get sarcasm.

I think Smolder’s being honest, too. Look at that faucet between her legs!
