I understand Rule 34, (I almost went blind once when I accidentally stumbled on Bowser X Peach pr0n lol) and I admit I don’t know much about the character, so I don’t know if that… Incestious ‘shipping stuff was in the character’s original design intent, or not.

I’ve found it’s hard to draw a hard line as to which characters “count,” because, by their very nature, they’re all works of fiction, so saying one’s more “legitimate” than another becomes…difficult.

As for Apo’s tendency to appear in NSFW artwork, it’s something that has to be evaluated on a per-piece basis. The same can be said of characters like Betty Boop, Jessica Rabbit, and even Gadget Hackwrench from Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers – remember Rule 34? ;)
