@Background Pony #BF72
From what I have seen, it feels less ‘graphic novel’ and more ‘comic strip’. And I really don’t have time to be reading comics right now. So I will just take your word for it.
@Meanlucario
I have never followed the comic. I have seen it show up in my feed on Derpi a few times, but I have never gotten around to reading the entire thing. So forgive me for not understanding the lore of this comic
It is completely worth reading this series from the beginning to current. Great storylines and character development. You get immersed in the world that has been created. Easily one of my fav fan series. I would recommend reading if you are interested. :) Cheers.

Yeah, it took me forever to realize that. They live in a regular house, not the palace, and they all need real jobs and never go on quests. Persistence of the Mundane sort of keeps us thinking of her as a show-style princess, though.
I know it’s fun to crap on the government, but they are people, too. They are always doing what they can. I bet when the ponies in this comic passed that legislation they felt good about making sure that they didn’t have unlicensed quacks making ponies pay to be molested by weirdos off the street. The idea that a non-hoofed creature may want a license wasn’t brought up, or they just assumed people would equate hooves to hands. The test of the system will be how it responds to the needs of the affected citizens—if Spike is a citizen, see any number of fan fics which ask that question—and whether the oposition is more powerful. Expect the Spa Twins to mount a xenophobic/specist “Foreign dragons/Griffins will take our jobs!” protest campaign.
Strangely enough, this feels like an indirect jab at the US government (or maybe it is just politics in general…)
Either way, I feel bad for ya, Spike. Hopefully you will be able to get that license.
Spike, you’re a dragon. The laws of inferior creatures do not apply to you. You could eat a pony right now and it would just be the food chain in action.
@Homeshine
Discrimination, yes, but not because he’s a dragon. It’s because he’s >no hooves.
I suspect ponies just naturally assume the world is made for hoofed creatures, and don’t stop to think about those without.

So a monster, if you think he should eat other sapient beings.
No, I just want him to be a dragon.

That would certainly explain why we never see the ‘Princess Twilight Sparkle’ tag in these things.
Lady: So…riot?
Man: Riot.
Guy: Yeah, fuck this city!

If you follow the comic, her “princess” status is non-existent.
Yeah, you have a point there. Why is Twi not intervening on this? Is she not the leader of Equestria at this time?
Either way, I feel bad for ya, Spike. Hopefully you will be able to get that license.
So you want Spike to be a tyrant.
Underground Gryphon massage parlors that are mysteriously more popular and more expensive than the legitimately-licensed parlors.

It’s depriving him only because he’s a dragon.
So cute
