The show contradicts itself multiple times, so I don’t see how the comics could avoid doing the same.
But the way I see it, the show is canon to itself, the comics are canon to themselves, and the manga is canon to itself. There may be many parallels between the three, but unless there was some multiverse event where the worlds crossed over with each other, there’d be no direct overlaps.
Wasn’t it confirmed that the comics are canon as long as they don’t contradict the show? Though I don’t remember exactly where I heard that so don’t take my word for it.

That’s the comic made by IDW, so the characters there are different to what they would be in the show.
I can say for certain that it did not.

But I believe it was more of a neglectful thing than a malicious thing.
Did the show really stated she purposely left the buggos be hungry?

Dude, what are you on about? If she killed traitors as an example, then we wouldn’t have the changedlings (which I think would be for the better anyway). Sure, she let her subordinates go hungry (at least in her appearances from the later seasons), but she doesn’t seem like the type to try to control the flow of information. Though when you’re starving, info isn’t the first thing on your mind anyway.
Are you sure this is canon and not your headcanon? I agree with the hungry part but the rest are science fiction.
In Canon she a tyrant who rule with a Iron fist and will kill all traitor as a example for be against her, her People who are weak are let to die, Love for other is Forbidden, knowledge is limited to only the weakness of other. is all her peoples be hungry none stop, even eat normal fool is not enough, still hungry, but ones be reform, the none stop hungry is over, no need to feel on love, can eat like other creature( like eat a cake with you) but still again love from other but only with those who be close for them
Wishing they got a comic arc for them in this thing instead of just one comic issue honestly.

I do hope we see Luna and Celestia too, given how they got terrible sendoffs.

If the trio would be the villains in Gen 5, it would mean Discord done damage that can’t be undone.
Them being stuck as statues for years due to Discord disposing of his “pawns” like that.
It would be like a big eyesore that won’t go away.

I am pretty sure the sisters wouldn’t have killed the trio if Discord didn’t step in.
Because everyone in the whole world was watching and that would surely cause a downward spiral for the sisters.
Most likely they will become NMM and Daybreaker due to giving in the urge to kill someone like that, or at least Celestia’s case since she be giving into the temptation of taking someone’s life for what they had done.
Most likely the sisters would have just beat the trio up and just dump them into Tartarus.

My love will be restored for him even admire him who knows maybe he suggested to be turned to stone cause maybe luna and tia had some else in mind (death).

For me, I am more in a like/anger thing with Discord.
Like I still “like” him but I am still pissed at him for his damn plan and only way for said anger to go away if the damage he has done is directly addressed and fixed.
