A really good question. No one, not even Twilight, ever asked where Pinkie and Rarity were. After catching up with AJ, they just walked back to the town, boarded the train and headed back to Ponyville, leaving Pinkie and Rarity behind. No questions asked, not even when they got to Ponyville.
 
It’s an excellent episode, but that part… what the hell?
