True, but the point I’m making is that while you don’t drown in quicksand in real life, it usually tends to swallow up its victims in fiction/fantasy.
I’d love if she was a weak swimmer, given the chance to escape the quicksand only to drown in the ocean hehe.
It can be deadly here too. You may not suffocate in it, but you can still get stuck. If you’re below the tide-line, you then drown; even if not, you might not be found, if you’re in a remote area.

Maybe in our world that’s how it works, but in the world of fiction, more often than not quicksand is much more deep and deadly…
