My sister used to work with tax returns for the IRS. You wouldn’t believe some of the stuff people put down for things like ‘Occupation’ and the like.
A friend of mine still does, and he told me once about some guy sent in his nudes for a tax appraisal or something

Wouldn’t this mean that Spike gets three birthdays (hatchdays?) a year? And three times the Hearthswarming presents?
 
Of course, this would mean that Spike would have to give Twilight three times the birthday presents, Hearthswarming presents, and Mother’s Day presents.

The Dragon IRS on the other hand…
Well the dragon IRS works a bit differently. Taxes and associated returns are determined based on hoard size, which is why Spike’s pile of comic books and framed Rarity pictures usually nets him a nice bag of gems each year as a refund. Claiming Twilight, on the other hand, would (under dragon law) add not only a full fledged princess to his assets, but also all the associated assets belonging to said princess, up to and including property, magical artifacts, and so on. No way he could afford to pay off any of that.
