I don’t get it either, plus ironically everybody’s fine with the Cake twins not being earth ponies like their parents, (both being a unicorn & pegasi) so it’s already kinda stressed in the show that ponies can mix races, and such, and their offspring won’t be 100% like both parents.
I remember with Flurry Heart it was people treating there headcanon as fact.I even remember someone saying that shining armour needed as well be an alicorn for the child to be one. At one point in actual argument I was going for why Flurry Heart could not be an alicorn was because cadence was not immortal you figure that one out

Honestly, I’d be surprised if she didn’t. It’s like how everybody else was surprised Flurry Heart was born an alicorn, meanwhile I was always expecting that ever sense it was revealed Cadance was preggers. (Cadance is an alicorn, why is it so shocking?)
