Detailed syntax guide

Background Pony #21A2
…just in case anyone anywhere is reading this and wondering what we’re talking about, there is a class of chemicals of biological origin called peptides. They are short chains of amino acids. Most biochem textbooks these days say that a string of amino acids is a “protein” if there are fifty or more amino acids linked together and a “peptide” if there are between two and forty-nine. This is an arbitrary definition, of course.

Some hormones–chemicals that control certain processes in living things–belong to this family, peptides. Other hormones don’t, like the steroid family of hormones.

If that were the case birth control pills wouldn’t work. Are you thinking of peptides? Some peptides are hormones and some aren’t, and there are hormones that aren’t peptides.

“I don’t get it, Smolder. Why are you secretly feeding Gallus mare hormones?”

“Eh… I don’t know. An experiment, maybe?”

“That seems a little unethical. Also, what kind of experiment?”

“Well… I’ve been putting stallion hormones in Sandbar’s food for a while now too.”

“I was going to wait a week or two, then lock them in a room together and see what happens.”

“That sounds even worse than I was imagining! I’m not sure I can go along with this.”

“What if I let you watch with me?”

“Ok.”
