By the way if it makes you feel any better, a NON-BRONY debunked their argument for Raven Vs Twilight

In fact, he proved Twilight should’ve won, by a landslide no less.

And this was BEFORE the episode even aired.

True. They used to actually put some actual research into their fights to reach a conclusion, but now it feels like they go in BEFORE researching with a narrative of who’s going to win and skews the research in favor of that conclusion even if it means omitting evidence that would point to the contrary.

It simply isn’t a good indicator of who would win anymore.

i hate how Death Battle said Twilight can replicate Raven’s magic and copy her stats, and then just forgot about it.

Apparently, powerscaling Twilight to Midnight Sparkle, who can destroy universes casually, isn’t allowed either, but it’s perfectly fine to scale Raven to Trigon, who she needed OUTSIDE HELP to beat.

I can’t wait till their show ends

Honestly, even within the Naruto series itself, genjutsu has the potential to be extremely overpowered when you aren’t fighting gods among men like Adult Naruto and Adult Sasuke, yet hardly anyone manages to use it to any significant effect outside of filler and later Sharingan shenanigans.

It takes a lot of set up and thought for the author to use genjutsu without losing the audience. It’s rather complicated (especially when substitution jutsu is also prevalent). And besides Itachi’s genjutsu that manipulates time, most ninja’s know to simply use the release hand sign/bite their lip or tongue/disturb their chakara/have someone else break the illusion the moment they get hit with it.

Take a look at how haxed Aizen from Bleach was. He could make illusions that even if you knew you were in one, you couldn’t do anything about it. That’s how I view those who have been hit with a genjutsu and have no idea how to counter it.

It’s also a pain because while you’re casting the genjutsu you’re distracted/occupied (again, unless you’re like Itachi that can inflict his 72 hour torture illusion that passes within one second in real time -worth noting that genjutsu actually requires a lot of chakara). So if you use that move and your opponent can dispel it/has an ally that can for them it can be bad. Along with some not being proficient/needing a longer cast time there are some downsides using it against other ninja.

(For example when Itachi uses his Tsukuyomi on Sasuke and Sasuke breaks the illusion, Itachi wastes a huge pool of his chakara and stamina)
(or when Sasuke uses a normal genjutsu against Killer Bee and his partner wakes him out of it… well…)

Genjutsu can be cast simply by injecting your chi/chakara/etc into the enemy and cause them to hallucinate. The easiest method is visually as your opponent sort of needs to see you and with Sharingan being the most seen kekkei genkai it makes sense.

That said, any of the other senses are viable (we’ve had touch, oral intake with the moth poison genjutsu and sound work for this) (Jiraya’s frog sound genjutsu/Tayuya’s flute melody genjutsu). Even with visual genjutsus we’ve seen (as demonstrated by Itachi) that he can cause the victim to feel the illusion of pain (through countless stabs) and hear his explanation despite being in an illusionary world.

So yes, Gaara should easily be able to administer a genjutsu to completely throw off Toph’s vibration touch senses and ocular senses.

Genjutsu is broken when you have no idea how to counter it, but for whatever reason Death Battle just omits how a low energy required skill would straight up leave it’s opponent defenseless.

Well I’d think that being blind would usually make one more vulnerable to genjutsu, as it’s one less sense to fool. But again, her seismic sense being totally unheard of in the Naruto world would easily counteract that hypothetical vulnerability and then some.
Also, earthbenders can sense earth (metal, rock, sand, soil, etc.) even when it’s not connected to the Earth, and if Toph specifically couldn’t, then she couldn’t redirect oncoming attacks from other earthbenders (as she’s often seen doing, including in her debut episode against The Boulder) and she couldn’t have cheated that guy at the cup game in the Fire Nation.

Well it’s stated in Naruto (I believe Jiraiya says it when teaching Naruto how to break out of a genjutsu, but I may be wrong) that genjutsu fools all of the senses, not just sight. So, while Toph’s blindness could theoretically make her more vulnerable to genjutsu, her seismic sense isn’t really a thing in Naruto, which would probably make it very difficult (if not next to impossible) to trick with genjutsu.

Kirby beating Buu makes sense as Kirby is a GOD SLAYER! Have you SEEN what Kirby has gone up against?

I agree with many of those other points though, like with Lobo, and Gaara(Who can FLY, would genjutsu work on someone that’s blind? Who sees through earthbending(and thus CAN’T see anything in the air) and has trouble seeing through SAND? Toph’s powerful, but Gaara SHOULD be more than capable of curb stomping her).

I’m just gonna come out and say it; Having the Mask win this fight was a welcoming change.

I’m gonna come out and say it too. Does anyone even watch Death Battle because they’re actually curious who would win a Death Battle or do they just wanna see a flashy animation? Because:
Sasuke should’ve beaten Hiei (seriously, he tried genjutsu once)
Gaara should’ve beaten Toph (seriously, he can use genjutsu too)
Roshi a literal comic relief character beating Jiraya a legendary sannin with you guessed it (genjutsu)
Ghost Rider’s one hit kill wouldn’t harm Lobo who doesn’t care remotely about his sins
Superman vs Goku was so poorly thought out that they had to to a redux which was somehow worse than the first.
Jotaro who can destroy anyone without a stand and can literally freeze time loses to Kenshiro a top tier super human?
Ace a logia fruit user that is immortal to all physical damage except Haki loses to Natsu?
Twilight’s loss to Raven was hamfisted as f**k as soon as Twilight got off that spell she won that.
Buu, a universe buster loses to Kirby? SERIOUSLY?

I could go on, but you get the point, it’s not even biased opinion. A lot of the matchings I’d actually want the person who won to win, but it’s either poorly done, or I know the other opponent would straight up destroy them. Wiz and Boomstick always just quantify damage/damage taken feats, but they never really factor some of the moves in a character’s arsenal that would DESTROY the opponent they just paired them against.
