After building up to this for more than half a decade, it’s kind of weird to now write dialogue from the perspective of the FiD Mane Six, who have no idea who this is or what is going on. A fresh slate on Discord’s intro, who would’ve thought?

Discord: It’s quite lonely encased in stone. But you wouldn’t know that, would you? Because I don’t turn ponies into stone.
Celestia: ENOUGH!
Rainbow Dash: So… is what’s happening what I think is happening, or am I crazy?
Applejack: The DM brought in a whole ‘nother roleplayer to be our new Big Bad.
Pinkie Pie: So yes on both counts?
Rarity: Um, pardon me, newcomer! Just as a point of order: Are we going to use this over-the-phone gimmick the whole time, or…? I just have concerns about tech issues interrupting the scene.
Discord GM: I’m starting to think you should’ve given them at least the slightest heads-up.
DM: Curse my flair for the dramatic.
Discord GM: Very well. To the players around the table: Indulge us for a teensy bit longer. Never fear, we will be getting to know each other personally very soon.
